what is
psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological disorders
through psychological methods. These methods include
suggestion, persuasion, hypnosis, behaviour modification
indirect encounter and psychoanalysis.
hypnosis
and psychotherapy
One common
misconception about hypnosis is that it is a crude tool of
suggestion which is used solely to suppress the
symptoms of a problem, even if this leads the hypnotic
subject to act against their better judgement.
The
Ericksonian Psychotherapeutic Approach, rather than viewing
hypnosis as a state, assumes that it's an interpersonal
process unfolding between the conscious and unconscious
selves of client and therapist, which can be brought into
focus towards the desired outcome.
Psychotherapy and hypnotherapy are natural, healing and
relaxing processes used to refer to one's unconscious
resources to deal with a present crisis through a deeply
relaxed state.
